Jonesville’s Hometown Heroes Banner Program

The Town of Jonesville’s Hometown Heroes Banner Program was initiated by the Town to honor and recognize veterans and active duty service members.

The banners are 36” wide x 72” tall made of a heavy vinyl, printed the same on both sides with the service person’s photo, full name and branch of the military. The banners are displayed in Jonesville at least one time during each year.  All banner locations shall be determined solely by the Town of Jonesville. The Town is not responsible for replacing banners that are stolen, damaged, or destroyed due to age, vandalism, or any acts of nature. The number of banners and location is subject to change.

Program Guidelines:

Eligibility
• Honoree must be an active, retired, or honorably discharged member of the United States Armed Forces service branches (Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, and Space Force).
• Honoree must have ties to a Town of Jonesville resident. Proof of residency (e.g., copy of utility bill or driver license) may be required.

Application
Applications are now being accepted. Completed applications must be submitted along with:

  • Proof of military service and active-duty dates (e.g. Military ID, DD214, etc.).
  • Honorable discharge or retirement papers (e.g. DD214, WD A
  • GO, NAVPERS) if applicable.
  • High-resolution digital image of honoree in official uniform (with no objects). Original photos will be returned. Digital photos preferred.

Once the application and required documents have been submitted to the Town of Jonesville, the materials will be reviewed. If selected, a proof of the banner will be provided to the applicant for final approval.

Banner Locations and Display Period
The banners are displayed in throughout Jonesville along Highway 67, Highway 21 and Valley Drive during either Memorial Day or Veterans Day.  All banner locations shall be determined solely by the Town of Jonesville.

Waiver and Limitations
The Town of Jonesville is not responsible for replacing banners that are stolen, damaged, or destroyed due to age, vandalism, or any acts of nature, including high winds. Any loss or damage to an installed banner will be handled at the discretion of the Town. The Town reserves the right to not install a banner if the above requirements have not been met. All banners are the property of the Town of Jonesville.
