Water Line Improvement Project

Overview

The Project includes the installation of 2,989 linear feet of 8″ PVC C900 water line and associated appurtenances along Shaw Street, a portion of River Road at Shaw Street, and North Mineral Springs from Shaw Street to Cedarbrook Road. It also includes the installation of 3,745 linear feet of 6″ PVC C900 water line and associated appurtenances along Cedarbrook Road, from Berley Drive onto Swan Creek By-Pass up to 5417 Swan Creek By-Pass. Additionally, the project involves the installation of nine 12-inch and one 8-inch insertion valves on existing mains along Highway 21 and Highway 67. A total of 1,282 water services will be replaced from the main to the meter throughout the entire Town. This service replacement includes new meter boxes, meter setters, and backflow preventers, with existing services to be abandoned following the installation of the new ones.

The Town of Jonesville, North Carolina is accepting sealed formal bids for the Jonesville – Water Line Project. A pre-bid conference will be held August 13, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Town Hall 1503 NC Highway 67, Jonesville, NC 28642. All bids must be received by the Town of Jonesville no later than 2:00 pm on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at which time bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at Jonesville Town Hall. Project Funding

Funding for the project is provided by a Viable Utilities Reserve Program and a grant agreement with the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality. The grant total amount is $6,946,300, with a portion of the grant funds being allocated towards the Jonesville – AMI Meter Replacement Project.
